Import & Export Food Forum

With the rise of consumption upgrades and diversification, China's demand for imported food continues to grow, and the food import scale continues to expand. Data shows that in 2023, China's total food imports reached $140.18 billion, with six major categories - meat, grains, seafood, fruits, dairy, and vegetable oils - accounting for nearly 80%, with a compound growth rate of more than 11% in the past decade. Brazil, the United States, Thailand, Canada, Australia, Indonesia, and Russia are China's main food import trading partners. In 2023, China's food exports totaled $76.517785 billion, a 0.6% YoY increase. Meanwhile, food exports to Central and Eastern Europe grew by 11.9%, with emerging markets becoming key growth drivers. As the industry upgrades, China's product quality, organizational capability, and marketing strength are expanding globally, more Chinese enterprises are looking for new opportunities in overseas markets. However, how to meet food import & export registration, certification, and compliance requirements and how exported food meets the target market's safety standards are still crucial challenges.
SIAL Global Food Industry Summit - Import & Export Food Forum will gather representatives from industry associations, domestic and overseas food importers and exporters, distributors, etc. to analyze trade data and reports, forecast trade trends and consumption changes, discuss strategies on how to break trade barriers and how to build brand model, etc.
