International Food Exhibition | Inner Mongolia's Specialty Agricultural Products Step onto the World Stage

2025.05.28

Thanks to the stable operation of the "Ulanqab" China-Europe freight train, the transportation time has been dramatically reduced from 45 days to just 15 days. This important agricultural distribution hub in northern China is building a trade bridge connecting Asia and Europe through its specialty agricultural products. The International Food Exhibition will offer more information about import and export.

Recently, a batch of premium processed pumpkin seeds from Inner Mongolia Quanguhui Food Technology Co., Ltd. departed from Qisumu International Logistics Park, heading directly to Moscow through the Erenhot Port. These carefully selected and shelled pumpkin seeds will soon appear on Russian consumers' dining tables.

As China's main pumpkin seed producing region, Ulanqab accounts for about 30% of the country's total annual output. In 2024, the local government invested 220 million yuan to build modern standardized factories, attracting several leading agricultural processing enterprises. The park now has an annual processing capacity of 50,000 tons of pumpkin seeds, representing one-fifth of China's total exports.

"Our pumpkin seed products are exported to over 60 countries, with annual exports of about 30,000 tons and annual output value exceeding 400 million yuan," said Cao Yuqin, the person in charge of Quanguhui Company.

The International Food Exhibition notes that riding this wave of success, local specialty products like flaxseed and oats have also boarded the international express. Qisumu Park is currently constructing a bonded logistics center and has gathered more than 30 foreign trade enterprises, gradually developing into an international agricultural product distribution center. Statistics show that in the first four months of this year, Ulanqab's international freight trains transported a total of 28,500 tons of goods worth over 50 million USD.

"Our goal is to attract 80 import-export processing enterprises by 2028 and exceed 100 by 2030," said the person in charge of Qisumu International Logistics Park. This plan will further promote the transformation and upgrading of local agricultural product processing industry, providing stronger support for Inner Mongolia's specialty agricultural products to go global.
