CEO and Executive Director of AustCham
Nick Coyle has spent 12 years in China and resided in Beijing since mid-2013. Before moving to Beijing Nick lived in Wuhan and Chongqing working on economic research projects with the Callaghan Institute as well as two years in Shanghai developing his own business in education.
Nick was born in Sydney in 1979 and spent much of his time growing up overseas, mainly in Papua New Guinea and graduated from Newcastle University with a Bachelor of Economics – Banking, Finance and International Trade.
Nick began with the Chamber in July 2013 as the Government Policy Advocacy Manager before taking over the role of General Manager and legal representative on a permanent basis from February 2014. In 2016, Nick was appointed by the AustCham Board as the newly created CEO & Executive Director of the expanded AustCham China which now included North, South and Western China.
Nick is a frequent guest on a number of business programs on CNBC, Bloomberg, the ABC and CGTN discussing Australian business in China on behalf of the Chamber and looks forward to one day playing a lot more golf.
