South Korea, Taiwan Region, Vietnam, Indonesia, Japan, Thailand, and Hong Kong S.A.R. to get early preview of SIAL CHINA 2017
BEIJING
– February 14, 2017 – SIAL CHINA, Asia’s largest professional food and
beverage exhibition, scheduled for May 17 to May 19, 2017 in Shanghai, will
host press conferences in seven regions and countries in February and March to
promote the importance of international food and beverage commerce. Regionally,
press conferences will be held in Korea, Taiwan Region, Vietnam, Indonesia,
Japan, Thailand and Hong Kong S.A.R., while promotional events will be held in
more than 13 regions and countries covering Asia, Europe, Australia, and the
United States.
From
2010 to 2015, China has imported food products from more than 202 nations to
help feed its growing middle class and urban populations, greeting a win-win
for many exporters and importers. Three nations, the United States, New Zealand
and Brazil, and two regions, European Union and South East Asia (ASEAN) have
emerged as the top five food exporters to China. In China, cultural and
geographic influence, and the boom of e-commerce have created a surge in the
import of fruits and snacks from ASEAN, and convenience foods from South Korea
and Japan.
“As
Asia’s largest professional food and
beverage exhibition, we are glad to see the close cooperation and
bi-lateral exchange between industry players in China and ASEAN, Japan and
Korea. Through the upcoming press conferences in the strategic regions and
countries, we would like to communicate with local media, exhibitors and visitors
with the latest trends in the China market, promote the importance of food innovation,
and invite exhibitors and visitors to share their views and develop their
business through our platform.” Said Jim
LIU, President of SIAL CHINA.
SIAL
CHINA received a total of 2,942 exhibitors and 76,986 visitors in 2016, of
which 56 percent of exhibitors were from outside of Mainland China. The top 10
nations represented at the exhibition included South Korea, the United States,
France, Brazil, Australia, Spain, Poland, Argentina, Turkey and Russia. While South
Korea, Russia, Thailand, the United States, Australia, Malaysia, Japan,
Singapore, Indonesia and Poland were the top 10 countries international
visitors came from. As the largest food and beverage exhibition in Asia, SIAL CHINA
is committed to offering an immersive and international experience to
exhibitors and professional visitors.

SIAL CHINA 2017, a total of 21 food
sectors, including four dedicated zones in wine,
meat, dairy and beverage will
