ShenZhen International Food Exhibition | Maoming Guangdong Hog Industry Ushers in New Brand Development Opportunities

2025.06.11

With the support of Guangdong Province's policies and the construction of cross-regional industrial parks, Maoming's hog industry is entering a critical phase of transformation and upgrading. By adopting innovative business models, the city has established in-depth cooperation mechanisms among enterprises, cooperatives, and farmers, effectively extending the industrial chain and significantly improving pork processing standards. The ShenZhen International Food Exhibition will offer more information about food trade.

A representative from Maoming's Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau stated that, leveraging the advantages of provincial-level industrial parks, a number of new agricultural entities—including family farms, specialized cooperatives, and leading agricultural enterprises—have emerged. These entities are becoming key drivers in implementing the "Hundreds, Thousands, and Tens of Thousands Project." At the same time, the city is actively building a regional public brand, integrating marketing strategies and creating incentive mechanisms to promote e-commerce, direct sales, and other modern distribution channels, thereby enhancing the brand value of the hog industry.

The ShenZhen International Food Exhibition notes that as consumption upgrades continue, the catering market is becoming increasingly diverse. For example, Shunda Agriculture’s innovative product, cheese-infused sausages, has quickly gained popularity among consumers. As a core participant in the industrial park, the company has invested heavily in building a modern production base that covers the entire supply chain—from slaughtering and processing to storage—with an annual capacity of one million hogs and tens of thousands of tons of meat products. By adopting eco-friendly farming techniques and an advanced cold-chain logistics system, the company ensures consistent product quality from production to delivery.

Regarding brand development, a company executive explained that they have implemented a strict quality control system, using only freshly slaughtered pork from designated suppliers, with processing completed within four hours of slaughter. The products adhere to a "zero-additive" principle and are made using traditional methods. Moving forward, the company plans to increase R&D investment to introduce more innovative products, further strengthening the "Maoming Hog" regional brand.

Currently, Maoming has established a complete industrial chain, from eco-friendly farming to deep processing, with technological innovation integrated at every stage. It is reported that Guangdong Province will continue to support Maoming in improving its meat processing system, focusing on slaughtering, segmentation, deep processing, and ready-to-eat dishes, while also enhancing cold-chain logistics infrastructure to promote high-quality development in the hog industry.
