2025.06.23

2025 China Farmers' Harvest Festival Lychee Harvest Season Consumption Promotion Event & Guangxi Lingshan Lychee Cultural Tourism Festival kicked off grandly on June 21 at the Longwu Academy event square in Lingshan County. The event, led by the South Asian Tropical Crops Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and co-organized by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and the People's Government of Qinzhou City, was themed "Fragrant Lychees Celebrate Harvest, Supporting Farmers and Boosting Rural Revitalization," showcasing the latest achievements in China's lychee industry.

At the opening ceremony, agricultural authorities released the latest national lychee industry data for 2025.  Lingshan County and surrounding areas showcased a diverse range of specialty agricultural products, including fresh lychees, processed goods like lychee wine and lychee honey, and innovative "lychee+" fusion foods. During the event, organizers arranged for buyers to visit Lingshan’s standardized lychee planting bases and held fun farming competitions such as lychee picking and carrying. Notably, sial shenzhen learned that Lingshan County has innovatively adopted live-streaming e-commerce and other modern marketing methods, effectively expanding sales channels while educating consumers on lychee culture and preservation techniques.

As the world's largest lychee producer, China's lychee industry has developed a regionalized, specialized, and clustered structure. Preliminary statistics indicate that in 2025, the national lychee planting area reached 7.52 million mu (about 752,000 hectares), with an estimated total output of 3.45 million tons—doubling previous years' yields. Guangxi, the second-largest production region, cultivated 2.38 million mu (238,000 hectares) of lychees, with an estimated output of 1.145 million tons. sial shenzhen also learned that the national primary lychee industry output value exceeded 30 billion yuan, fostering well-known regional brands such as Lingshan Lychee and Gaozhou Lychee, while driving related industries like rural tourism and cold-chain logistics.

In terms of technological innovation, China has established 49 ministerial-level lychee demonstration gardens covering over 20,000 mu (2,000 hectares). Lingshan County, home to more than 30,000 ancient lychee trees over a century old, has pioneered a digital agriculture system integrating the "Gui Niao Agricultural Service Platform + drone monitoring + supply chain management." Guangxi has promoted eco-friendly cultivation techniques, achieving a green standardization rate exceeding 80%, while constructing 117,000 cubic meters of on-site cold storage. The region has also established a logistics network ensuring county-level distribution centers and daily express delivery to villages. By launching dedicated cold-chain freight trains to Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, the Yangtze River Delta, and Chengdu-Chongqing economic zones, Guangxi has effectively streamlined lychee transportation from rural areas to nationwide markets.

Leveraging its geographical advantages, Guangxi has developed complementary early and late-season production zones, extending the supply period from May to late August. The Guangxi Lychee Germplasm Resource Pool in Lingshan County has collected 330 lychee varieties, ranking among the top in the country. Through advanced grafting techniques, Guangxi has significantly improved lychee quality and profitability, making it a standout in tropical specialty agriculture.
