SIAL Shanghai 2025 Wraps Up with Record Deals, SIAL Shenzhen Takes the Stage This September

Shanghai, May 21, 2025 –SIAL Shanghai 2025, Asia’s largest food and beverage trade fair, concluded with resounding success on May 21 after three dynamic days of innovation, trade, and global engagement. A record-breaking 12,870 business matchings among 174,365 professionals from 110 countries and regions were facilitated, further solidifying SIAL Shanghai’s position as a vital global platform for food and beverage trade.

 

Next, the spotlight turns south China and Southeast Asia to SIAL Shenzhen 2025, taking place from September 1–3 at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center (Futian), where the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area will act as a strategic hub linking RCEP markets and Southeast Aisa, South Aisa with global opportunities.

Occupying 17 exhibition halls, SIAL Shanghai 2025 showcased the full spectrum of global F&B products, earning high praise from participants.

South Korean Pavilion Celebrates $18 Million in Deals

 

A highlight of the event was the success of the South Korean Pavilion, which signed $18 million worth of MOUs and on-site procurement contracts.

 

“SIAL Shanghai provided unparalleled access to China’s booming market and global buyers,” said a South Korean representative. “We secured deals for kimchi, instant noodles, and health-focused snacks—clear indicators of strong global demand for South Korean innovation.”

 

Explosive Trade Activity and Cross-Border Collaboration

 

From Egyptian freeze-dried fruits to Brazilian beef, Japanese sake to Vietnamese coffee, and Chinese regional delicacies like Yunnan mushrooms and Tibetan yak meat—SIAL Shanghai 2025 brought together 350,000 products from over 30 Chinese provinces and municipalities and 75 countries & regions. Top-tier buyers from the retail, HoReCa, catering, and trading sectors—including global industry giants such as JD.com, Walmart, 7-Eleven, Carrefour, CPF Global, and many more—actively participated, driving record-breaking on-site orders.

 

“By day one, we had met with over 130 buyers, including major players from Russia, the UK, and Southeast Asia, with 16 preliminary deals signed,” shared the Chunxue Group (Shanghai).

 

Zhengzhou Bairong Trade City brought 400+ merchants to source global products: “The fusion of local flavors and global trends here is groundbreaking.”

The trade fair debuted 9,721 new products, reinforcing SIAL Shanghai’s role as a global innovation showcase. The SIAL Innovation spotlighted cutting-edge entries, with California Sunshine Gourmet winning gold for its “Tea-Infused Salmon Seasoning.” Winners will go on to SIAL World Champions Tour, gaining international exposure.

The 7th SIAL Global Food Industry Summit gathered over 2,000 experts to discuss retail trends, health foods, and cross-border trade strategies. Meanwhile, the newly launched 2025 Pizza New Innovation White Paper explored the surging global pizza market and this niche market potential in China.

 

Adrenaline-pumping contests, such as the SIAL CUP Barista Challenge and The 7th SlAL Chic & Tea Contest, celebrated F&B artistry and Trends.

SIAL Shanghai 2025 officially opened on May 19 under the theme “Own The Change,” bringing together global leaders and industry giants. The opening ceremony welcomed over 140 leaders and representatives from governments, embassies, consulates, international organizations, and industry associations across Brazil, Spain, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, France, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Australia, the U.S., Austria, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, and more, including Uruguay’s Minister of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries Mr. Luis Alfredo Fratti Silveira, Former Vice Chairman of the All China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives Mr. Yu Peishun, Brazilian Ambassador to China H.E.
