SIAL Shanghai 2024 found that according to the "Lantern Festival Consumption Observation" released by JD.com, the search volume of Lantern Festival and Tangyuan increased by 171% and 149% respectively compared to the same period of last year's in lunar calendar. Data from Meituan's Little Elephant Supermarket shows that on February 23rd, sales of Tangyuan on the platform increased by 70% compared to last week. Dingtong Buying said it expects sales of Tangyuan to rise about 20% year-on-year.

In terms of online selling, before the Spring Festival, "Persimmon Best Wish" Tangyuan sales have achieved a single breakthrough of 1 million pcs with the help of e-commerce celebrity selling. The overall sales of "Persimmon Best Wish" Tangyuan are still growing. In Spring Festival tens of millions of bags are expected to be sold.
