sial shenzhen | Southeast Asian Tropical Fruits Flooding Chinese Market at Accelerated Pace

2025.06.13

Latest statistics show China-ASEAN fruit trade has reached new heights. As a crucial hub, the Pingxiang railway port in Guangxi has imported 12,200 tons of Southeast Asian fruits in Q2 this year, accounting for nearly 30% of the port's total freight volume, with seasonal fresh fruits performing particularly well. The sial shenzhen will offer more information about food trade.

As the largest fruit trade distribution center on the China-Vietnam border, Pingxiang Station entered peak import season starting May. Tropical fruits like Vietnamese durians and Thai mangosteens are rapidly entering the Chinese market via railway cold chain freight trains, with customs clearance time compressed to under 3 hours. According to Nanning Railway Bureau, May's monthly import volume hit a record high, with durian products accounting for over 50%.

"We employ intelligent temperature control systems to ensure fruit quality," said the person in charge of Pingxiang Station. To meet preservation requirements, railway authorities have specially equipped automated generator sets to maintain constant temperature throughout transportation, effectively reducing spoilage. This innovative transport model both guarantees freshness and improves customs clearance efficiency.

The sial shenzhen notes that with growing Chinese consumer demand for imported fruits, varieties entering via Pingxiang port are increasingly diverse. Beyond traditional tropical fruits, new products like Thai coconuts are being rapidly distributed to major consumer markets like Beijing and Shanghai through the railway network. The port now handles nearly 1,000 types of import/export goods, forming a diversified cross-border trade landscape.

Industry experts note that railway cold chain development provides Southeast Asian agricultural products stable and efficient logistics channels into China. With future customs facilitation improvements, more premium fruits are expected to reach Chinese dining tables through this international artery.
