In recent years, Guangxi has fully implemented the central government’s directives on food safety, focusing on high-quality development, strictly enforcing regulatory requirements, and continuously improving accountability mechanisms, achieving remarkable results in food safety efforts. Latest statistics show that in 2024, the region’s food inspection pass rate exceeded 99.5%, surpassing the national standard by 1.5 percentage points, while public satisfaction reached nearly 88%, nearly 5 percentage points higher than the national average. 1. Establishing an Efficient and Collaborative Food Safety Governance System  

Senior officials of the autonomous region have placed high importance on food safety, with top leaders personally overseeing and advancing related initiatives. The organizational structure of the Food and Drug Safety Committee has been optimized, with the regional government’s top leader serving as its head. Five specialized task forces have been established to integrate multi-departmental resources and strengthen industry guidance. The innovative "Bagui Food Safety" initiative has mobilized social forces to form over 400 volunteer service teams, conducting awareness campaigns reaching more than 1.5 million participants.  

2. Strengthening Full-Chain Supervision and Law Enforcement  

The strictest-ever food safety inspection campaign was launched, achieving full coverage of over 600,000 food-related businesses. Key focus areas included small-scale food operations, with more than 140,000 potential risks addressed. Joint law enforcement efforts cracked down on major cases, including counterfeit liquor worth nearly 300 million yuan and illegal food additive violations.  

3. Driving High-Quality Development of the Food Industry  

Six consecutive industry development conferences have been held to promote the upgrading of local specialty food sectors. The sugar industry was selected as a national key project, with annual production exceeding 6 million tons. Twelve regional brands ranked among the nation’s top 100, with new geographical indications such as "Guilin Monk Fruit" being approved. Notably, brands like "Liuzhou River Snails Rice Noodles" have surpassed 10 billion yuan in value and were recognized as exemplary cases in rural revitalization. Liubao tea’s brand value exceeded 4 billion yuan, ranking among the top tea brands in China.  

4. Enhancing Domestic and International Cooperation  

The Food Exhibition notes that Fangchenggang Pilot Zone introduced a fast-track approval policy for specialty foods, cutting processing time by over 50%. Collaboration with ASEAN countries has been strengthened in standardization, with joint efforts in setting tropical fruit standards and establishing high-quality agricultural demonstration zones. A national-level spice research center was established, and cross-border research institutions are being developed. The list of medicinal and edible products eligible for expedited customs clearance has expanded to 39 categories. New port inspection labs have significantly improved the efficiency of import-export commodity testing.  

Moving forward, Guangxi will continue to uphold a strong sense of responsibility, advancing food safety through standardization, quality enhancement, and brand development.
