Food Expo 2025 in Shenzhen | Meizhou's Frozen Drinks Exports Surge, Up Nearly 8-Fold in First Six Months

2025.07.11

The data shows that from January to June this year, the export volume of ice cream and other frozen drinks from Meizhou reached 220 tons, an increase of 7.8 times compared with the same period last year, setting a new historical high. Food Expo 2025 in Shenzhen learned that this significant growth indicates that China's frozen food is accelerating its entry into the international market. Recently, a batch of 7.1 tons of ice cream products from Meizhou Yili Frozen Food Co., Ltd., including various flavors such as bitter coffee and cream, successfully passed customs inspection and clearance, which will bring a unique summer refreshment experience to overseas consumers.

A relevant person in charge of Meizhou Yili Frozen Food Co., Ltd. stated that the efficient services provided by the customs authorities have strongly supported the company's exports. By opening a "green channel" and optimizing inspection procedures, the customs has significantly shortened the export supervision cycle, helping enterprises seize business opportunities during the peak summer sales season. This efficient regulatory service model is worthy of promotion and reference in the field of food exports.

To ensure the quality of exported products, Meizhou Customs has taken a number of measures to strengthen supervision. On the one hand, it guides enterprises to strengthen the whole-process quality control from raw material procurement to production and processing; on the other hand, it provides precise technical guidance for enterprises in accordance with the regulatory requirements of different export markets. A customs official said that they pay special attention to the research and development of new products by enterprises, helping them adjust formulas and processes to meet the standards of importing countries. This "supervision + service" working model not only ensures food safety but also promotes trade facilitation, providing strong support for local characteristic foods to explore the international market.

With the global temperature rise and consumption upgrading, the international market for frozen drinks continues to expand. Food Expo 2025 in Shenzhen noted that Chinese frozen foods are gaining increasing popularity among overseas consumers due to their stable quality and unique flavors. The rapid growth in the export of frozen drinks from Meizhou demonstrates the international competitiveness of China's food manufacturing industry and provides a useful reference for food exports in other regions. It is expected that with the continuous improvement of product quality and the continuous expansion of market channels, China's frozen food exports will maintain a good development momentum.
