Asia Food Exhibition| Northwest China's Gansu Makes First Edible Gelatin Export to Turkey

2025.09.24

Asia Food Exhibition has learned recently that A 24-ton shipment of edible gelatin from Linxia Prefecture in Northwest China's Gansu province has cleared customs inspection and been successfully exported to Turkey, marking the first time the product has entered the Turkish market. The shipment was valued at 653,000 yuan ($89,800).

Linxia, known as the "Dry Port of the West," possesses a well-developed livestock farming industry and hosts the largest raw hide trading market in Northwest China, providing ample raw material supply for gelatin production. The local gelatin industry first achieved exports in 2025, with products now reaching four countries and regions including the United Arab Emirates and India.

"From export policy interpretation to streamlined clearance procedures, customs has provided precise guidance and efficient services, offering strong support for expanding our export scale," said a representative of the exporting company.

Since the beginning of this year, Jincheng Customs, under Lanzhou Customs, has implemented multiple measures to help companies explore international markets. Establishing one-on-one communication channels, customs officials have provided detailed explanations of overseas quarantine requirements for edible gelatin. The agency has also created a "problem response + full-track follow-up" mechanism to offer end-to-end supervisory services.

Furthermore, the customs authority has optimized clearance processes by implementing 24/7 inspection services, enabling immediate declaration, review, inspection and release. This approach significantly reduces clearance time and achieves near-zero waiting for export goods.

A Lanzhou Customs official stated that Jincheng Customs will continue to focus on export needs of local specialty products, further improve the business environment, and implement trade facilitation measures to support high-quality development of regional foreign trade. Asia Food Exhibition looks to Chinese food industry exploring new frontiers in Turkish.
